Green Tip of the Month - Do you shop local?
National chains are everywhere you look but did you know shopping locally could help cut down your carbon footprint, as well as supporting the economy in your neighbourhood? Food and products sold in local stores often have reduced food miles meaning a lesser impact on the planet to get your goods home.
A key pillar of Lagoon Hull is bringing more waterside leisure activities to Hull, which includes unlocking quayside space for shops to open and thrive – all with amazing views of the Humber.
Transport Changes
Part of Calvert Lane is to close for eight weeks and traffic will be diverted.

The road, between Boundary Way and Calvert Lane Fire Station, will be shut from May 16 to allow the road to be resurfaced.

A diversion will in be in place via Spring Bank, Albert Avenue and Anlaby Road until the scheduled end date on July 10.
"Did you know?"

Hull has plenty of statues celebrating those who have made significant contributions locally and nationally but our statues commemorating royalty both sit in very unusual places.

The city has statues of Queen Victoria, in the square that shares her name, and King William III in Market Place – and they both sit above public toilets!
